I've been looking into buying a rod specifically for Salmon, budget is around 250-300 dollars. Also, which baitcast reel is most effective, I used a spinning reel, but it wasn't any good for Salmons, it only took my line out farther. Any advice?

Where can I purchase a huge net to catch loads of salmon somewhere and not pay for fishing?
I fished for Steelthead, Alligator gar, Hybrid Bass all with a Medium Heavy pole and a 20 lb test and we had a blast especially when they are running.

when i went salmon fishing i used a ugly stick from walmart and a spinning rod. total cost $70. catching the fish…priceless
i think you really want the line to come out farther….let that fish run and get tired. gives you a heck of a fight. i brought in a 33'' in 15 lb salmon on a ugly stick and spinning rod. fought the fish for 15-20 minutes and a half mile down the river later…it was in my net and the bank of the river. good times
